Any week like this is bound to have some subtexts, and this one had far more than most. Some progress may have been made with one who is struggling as the result of the most godly and tender intervention I have ever seen. Some brethren who have not been a part of us moved closer. A dear brother who was one of the first people baptized in this country who is still faithful buried his older son this week. He, a childhood friend of our kids, was in his early 20’s. Thankfully, I was able to spend Thursday morning attending his funeral. All of us who are locals are still trying to process all of this.
